Skyfish makes managing users easy
It’s easy to make sure that only the right eyes can see the files and folders they’re supposed to see.
Skyfish’s user management tools let you control user permissions with precision and completeness. Each individual user’s access rights are easily fine-tuned. And, you can use multi-member user groups to conveniently set permissions for many users at once.
With Skyfish, users across multiple teams can access files in exactly the way you choose. Collaboration is optimized, while data security stays paramount.
Create users on Skyfish in seconds
Skyfish Administrators overseeing their organization’s account can easily create users and set their access rights from one simple control panel. Users can be existing team-members, or external users such as freelance workers, who need access to specified areas of Skyfish.
To create a user from the Users control panel in Skyfish, simply enter the user’s email address, and their name. They’re immediately created as a user, and receive an email with their login details. You can then decide exactly which files and folders in your Skyfish Drive they should have access to.
You can also specify whether a user should be given administrator privileges. A Skyfish Administrator enjoys universal access rights. This way, you can share the load of administration among several team-members.
We recommend you create only a few Skyfish Administrators — enough to lighten your workload, but only so many that administrator privileges are restricted to an exclusive group. You can revoke or reassign Administrator status at any time, to adapt to changes in your organization’s structure.
Moreover, if you connect your Skyfish account to your Colourbox account, you can grant a user access to Colourbox by creating them as a Colourbox User or Super User.
All your created users appear in your Users overview in Skyfish, so that you can see everyone’s access rights at a glance, and stay in complete control.
Set individual access rights for specific folders.
After creating users, Skyfish Administrators can set their access rights for specific folders.
You can block users from folders completely by setting their associated permissions to ‘No Access’. Users can also enjoy ‘View’-only access, ‘View & Upload’ access, which allows for contribution but not reorganizing or deleting files, or full ‘Edit & Upload’ access. You decide.
These permissions are adjustable at any time, allowing you to stay flexible and adapt to changing circumstances.
Supercharge collaboration, while keeping security tight.
Skyfish User Groups bundle together registered users and allow you to set the same permissions for all of them at once.
For example, you might set up a user group for each department in your organization. Then, you can assign the appropriate access rights for various Skyfish folders to each group of users, so that each department can see only what it needs to.
As a Skyfish Administrator, you maintain a detailed overview of all groups from one manageable control panel. Any group can have its properties and permissions configured from this overview at any time. For example, if you reshuffle your teams, you can easily add and remove users to and from their groups from the overview, and maintain the correct permissions settings in minutes.
In your overview, you can also add group profile pictures, so you can identify groups at a glance.
Stay up to date on your users — and keep them up to date, too.
In the overview, Administrators can sort users by their name, or by their most recent login. If you notice inactive users, you can send a verification link to every user, and make sure they still require Skyfish access. If you receive no response, simply delete the user to tie up the loose end, and uphold your data’s privacy.
User-created folders will remain after the user is deleted. The ownership of these folders will transfer to the administrator. No files will be lost.
Administrators can also send important news updates to all users at once via Skyfish. Simply use the Administrator settings for Notifications to create a text message that appears for all users whenever they next log in. Users must accept the message before continuing to use Skyfish, ensuring that they are aware of it.
