Niels Jørgen Steen is a Danish jazz pianist, and orchestra leader. He was married to Avi Sagild and is the father of musician Nikolaj Steen and actress Paprika Steen. Early in his career Niels Jørgen Steen played with Arnvid Meyer´s orchestra that often-had Ben Webster and Harry Edison as guest soloists.
Today he is the conductor of the Monday Night Big Band in the Paradise Club in Copenhagen. They primarily play Niels Jørgen Steen´s own big-band jazz arrangements, that is inspired by Duke Ellington and Count Basie.
