Al Cohn (by name Alvin Gilbert Cohn) was an American jazz saxophonist, arranger, and composer. He came to prominence in the band of clarinetist Woody Herman and was known for his longtime musical partnership with fellow saxophonist Zoot Sims.

d. February 15, 1988 in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.

Roy Eldridge (by name David Roy Eldridge) nicknamed “Little Jazz”, was an American jazz trumpeter. Eldridge was born on the North Side of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Father Alexander and his mother Blanche, who was a gifted pianist with a talent for reproducing music by ear, a trait that Eldridge claimed to have inherited from her.

d. February 26, 1989 in Valley Stream, New York.

Gerry Mulligan (by name Gerald Joseph Mulligan), also known as Jeru, was an American jazz saxophonist, clarinetist, composer, and arranger. Gerry Mulligan was born in Queens Village, Queens, New York, United States, the son of George and Louise Mulligan. His father was a Wilmington, Delaware native of Irish descent; his mother a Philadelphia native of half-Irish and half-German descent. Gerry was the youngest of four sons with George, Phil and Don preceding him.

b. April 6, 1927 in Queens, New York City.
d. January 20, 1996 in Darien, Connecticut.
