Bobby Hackett (by name Robert Leo Hackett) was an American jazz musician who played trumpet, cornet, and guitar with the bands of Glenn Miller and Benny Goodman in the late 1930s and early 1940s. Hackett played lead trumpet in the Vic Schoen Orchestra which backed the Andrews Sisters. Hackett can be heard on the soundtrack to the 1940 Fred Astaire movie, Second Chorus.

b. January 31, 1915 in Providence, Rhode Island.
d. June 7, 1976 in Chatham, Massachusetts.

Arvell Shaw was an American jazz double-bassist. Shaw learned to play tuba in high school but switched to bass soon after. Shaw and Sid Catlett then joined the Louis Armstrong All-Stars until 1950, when Shaw broke off to study music. He returned to play with Armstrong from 1952 to 1956, and performed in the 1956 musical, High Society.

d. December 5, 2002 in Roosevelt, New York.
