Money Johnson (by name Harold “ Money “ Johnson) was an American jazz trumpeter. He first played trumpet at age 15. Primarily a trumpeter, he also recorded with the trombone in a few instances and subsequently the flugelhorn and flute, respectively.

b. February 23, 1918 in Tyler, Texas.
d. March 28, 1978 in New York.

Mike Zwerin was an American cool jazz musician and author. Zwerin as a musician played the trombone and bass trumpet within various jazz ensembles. Zwerin studied at the High School of Music and Art, and began leading bands in his teens, in which he employed several up-and-coming musicians.

b. May 18, 1930 in Queens, New York.
d. April 2, 2010 in Paris, France.

Oliver Jackson (also known as Bops Junior) was an American jazz drummer. Jackson was born in Detroit, Michigan, United States, where he played in the 1940s with Thad Jones, Tommy Flanagan, and Wardell Gray, and had a variety show with Eddie Locke called Bop & Locke.

b. April 28, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan.
d. May 29, 1994 in New York.

Bill Pemberton (by name William McLane) was an American jazz double-bassist. Pemberton played violin as a child before switching to bass. He was in Frankie Newton's orchestra from 1941 to 1945 and then worked with Herman "Ivory" Chittison, Mercer Ellington, Eddie Barefield, and Billy Kyle later in the 1940s.

d. December 13, 1984 in New York.

Earl Hines (by name Earl Kenneth Hines) also known as Earl “ Fatha “ Hines, was an American jazz pianist and bandleader. He was one of the most influential figures in the development of jazz piano and, according to one source, "one of a small number of pianists whose playing shaped the history of jazz".

d. April 22, 1983 in Oakland, California.

Bobby Donovan was an American jazz alto saxophonist & flute player.

Budd Johnson (by name Albert J. “ Budd “ Johnson III) was an American jazz saxophonist and clarinetist who worked extensively with, among others. Johnson initially played drums and piano before switching to tenor saxophone. Johnson had his recording debut while working with louis Armstrong´s band in 1932 to 1933, but he is more known for his work, over many years, with Earl Hines.

b. December 14, 1910 in Dallas Texas.
d. October 20, 1984 in Kansas City, Missouri.
