The metro is a sustainable, fast and a safe way to get around Copenhagen, and daily about 180,000 passengers travel with the metro. Since the opening in 2002, over half a billion passengers have traveled with Copenhagns metro.

The metro system in Copenhagen is based on small trains with frequent departures and can therefore transport more passengers in less time. The metro does not have a fixed timetable and runs down to every two minutes during rush hour.

With the new Cityringen, there are 17 new stations in central Copenhagen, and in addition, the metro network will be extended to Nordhavn and Sydhavn in the coming years.
