A rainbow ice from Steak Royal sitiuated on Rainbow Square. The dish is a tribute to diversity with the rainbow colors symolizing the LGBT environment around the world. Rainbow Square and Steak Royal is located just in front of Copenhagen City Hall which was the first place in the world a same sexe couple could get married (in 1989). On 1 July 2014, the space was renamed Regnbuepladsen (English: Rainbow Square) in reference to the rainbow flag.
Steak Royal is a juicy extension of the Madklubben group’s popular Bistro Royal located at Kongens Nytorv square. It probably comes as no surprise that the lead role on the menu is played by great steaks. The restaurant has been decorated with glossy tiles, wooden panels, glass and mirrors to create the sense of an old world interior. Materials such as smoked oak, white marble and brass contributes to at final look of timeless class with a modern edge.
The Danish summer tends to be tricky but when the sun is ready to come out and play, there will be out door service atop the charming cobble stones while City Hall’s clock tower chimes in from above.
