Description

The education centre provides the setting for a diverse and digital learning environment by combining architectural expertise with innovative teaching methods. It has no permanent classrooms. Instead, it is based on group areas, presentation spaces, dialogue rooms and quiet zones, which allow for more diverse approaches to education. This contributes to a dynamic and socially integrated building, helping those who have struggled to learn within more traditional, teaching systems with an aim to equipping them with the qualifications necessary for attending further education.

Add to this, that digital learning has been given high priority in
the design and layout of the education centre. For example, every student is issued with his or her own iPad, while a total of 165 touch screens have been integrated as a natural component of the learning environment. The digital learning environment helps shape the students from passive observers into active participants. It enables them to create their own content from fieldwork, encouraging a different form of learning and rebuilding their self-confidence in their own abilities.
