Use-case Troubleshooting
My Skyfish Drive has no folders in it. Why?
To see folders in Skyfish, you must be granted access to them by a Skyfish Administrator. Your organization’s Skyfish Administrator will typically set your user access permissions when your user account is created. However, while you are using Skyfish, Administrators may provide you access to additional folders. They may also remove your access to folders, if they decide your access is no longer required.
If your Skyfish Drive is empty, it is usually for one of two reasons. The first reason is that no folders have yet been created. The second reason is that you have not been granted access to any folders. You should contact your organization’s Skyfish Administrator in your organization.e
I cannot edit the file information for the file I just uploaded to Skyfish. Why?
The ability to upload to folders in Skyfish is controlled by user access rights. There are two user access settings that enable users to upload files.
The first user access setting is called “View & Upload”. This setting allows users to view the folder, and upload files to it. It does not allow users to edit file information for files stored in the folder.
The other permission setting is called “Upload & Edit”. This setting allows users to edit the file information for files stored in the folder.
If you have “View & Upload” access, but do not have “Upload & Edit” access, you may only upload files. You may not edit their file information once they are uploaded. This is most likely why you are unable to edit the file information.
I cannot upload a folder to Skyfish. Why?
The ability to upload to folders in Skyfish is controlled by user access rights. There is only one user access setting that allows users to create subfolders inside folders. This user access setting is called “Upload & Edit”.
When you upload a folder to another folder in Skyfish, you are actually attempting to create a subfolder. Creating a subfolder is considered by Skyfish as editing the parent folder. This edit requires the appropriate user permissions for the parent folder.
If you have “View & Upload” access to an existing folder in Skyfish, but you do not have “Upload & Edit” access to it, you may not upload a new folder to create a subfolder in that existing folder. You may only upload a new folder to in the existing folder if you have “Upload & Edit” access to the existing folder.
I can no longer edit images in Skyfish. Why?
Skyfish Administrators can choose to restrict their users’ ability to edit images directly in Skyfish.
An Administrator may configure user access rights so that this feature is restricted only to those users who have “Edit & Upload” access to whichever folder contains the image.
It is likely that you previously had “Edit & Upload” access to the folder that contains the image you wish to edit, but a Skyfish Administrator recently changed your user access settings to the folder.
I cannot download a folder from my organization’s Public Media Gallery. Why?
The ability to download images from your Public Media Gallery may be activated or deactivated by your organization’s Skyfish Administrator at any time.
If you cannot download a folder, it is most likely because your Skyfish Administrator has chosen to deactivate your ability to do so.
